A Journey Into Florida DCF…
Kevin L. Ramos never dreamed working with Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). When he was 11, Kevin L. Ramos began his journey helping people, when he worked washing dishes at his parent’s ACLF (Adult Congregate Living Facility) in Miami, Florida. His commitment to bettering the lives of others steered him to a career working with the Florida DCF.
During more than a decade of service to the Florida DCF as both a Child Protective Investigator and Supervisor, he dedicated his life to the care and service of the children and families he served. As a tireless Investigator and Supervisor, Kevin never missed an opportunity to come to the aid of his coworkers and staff during moments of triumph and profound difficulty. Anyone who has ever dealt with the abused, abandoned, and neglected, knows it takes a caring and sensitive person to help make sure that children are protected and families receive the help needed to heal and become whole. THE DEPARTMENT is Kevin’s chance to tell the stories of the amazing and challenging experiences that face child welfare professionals and the families entwined in this difficult system.
Kevin is a husband and father who lives in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Communications and interned at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri.
